Beautiful Mess Retreat  

in Baddeck Nova Scotia.

 

Who is it for?  Busy women who are looking for a way to unwind, relax, have fun, and become inspired. Women who accept that we are all works in progress, or beautiful complicated messes, and wish to learn more about themselves in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

 

 

What is it all about? I have gathered a team of successful women who are going to teach us things about ourselves that we may not have known.  We are also going to pamper our bodies, lighten our spirit and reconnect with our personal hopes and goals.

Why should I come? If you are open to learning new things about yourself, looking for a connection with like-minded people, and just want some quiet time to collect your thoughts and re-energize your spirit, this is a perfect chance to do so. 

 

How do I register? The cost of the retreat includes accomodations, meals, and activities. Your spot can be held with a deposit at the time of registration, with the balance paid on arrival in Baddeck.

There are limited spots available, and registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. Payment can be made by email transfer or PayPal.

Carolyn Dunn was born and raised in Sydney Nova Scotia and for the last 28 years lived and worked in the film industry as an Actress in Toronto and LA. Along with acting Carolyn loved to study anything about health and the connections between the mind and the body. This led her to study the BodyTalk system and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) both are energy techniques that help a person release trapped energy, lodged in the body as pain or emotions that are 'undigested'. Moving back to Sydney several years ago and loving it Carolyn now works with Dr. David Dunn doing Cold laser Therapy and the Chirothin program a very successful weight loss program and working with clients using the energy techniques. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nicole Sullivan went on a journey in 2008 to India where she did her yoga teacher's training in Nasik at Yoga Gurukul. During the 200hour training and certification program in level 1 Hatha yoga, she learned the traditional form of the 5,000 year old practice, used to cleanse and balance body, mind and spirit. Part of Nicole's training included pratayama (breathing exercises), meditation styles, as well as classes with Aryuvedic and Western doctors. Since returning to Cape Breton in 2010 she spends her days as a radio announcer on 1035 the Eagle and her evenings teaching yoga to help people deal with joint & back pain, weakened immune system, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, exhaustion and general well being. She has taught in India, Ontario and Cape Breton. Nicole specializes in adapting classes to meet the level of each student in the class and believes the body will tell you how far to go into a pose. It is yoga practice, not yoga perfect, and every level of student can benefit from the practice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vicki Devoe is a Certified Massage Practitioner who studied at Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage. She is trained in a variety of Spa Therapy services that include: Swedish Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Reiki. Vicki is an experienced practioner who has a private practice and provides Chair Massage at the Cape Breton Farmer's Market. She enjoys helping people experience relief of tension, relaxation, and a general sense of well-being through her work.

 

 

 

 

A glimpse into the weekend activities.

 

We arrive late Friday afternoon to get settled in and each bring an easily reheatable (or something served cold) favorite dish along for a potluck meal. We have a few activities planned to help us get acquainted with each other, as well as understand what we hope to gain from the weekend.

Our first expert will guide us through some fascinating details of what our body would say to us if it had a voice, and we will uncover things from within ourselves that we hadn't thought about in a long time. 

It will be a night to remember.

 

Saturday will give us food for our mind, body, and spirit.  We will use our hands to create something beautiful, our minds to stretch into new ways of thinking, and we will give thanks to our bodies through an evening of pampering, massage, and laughter.

This is the perfect day to take in some of the scenic walking trails, breathe in some fresh mountain air, and get back in touch with our softer side.

 

Sunday we gather our refreshed minds and set some long term goals, with help from a goal-setting workshops.

We learn how to take the new inspired energy from the weekend and apply it to our everyday life.

We will be finished up by early afternoon in order to get back home and settled in.

 

It's going to be an amazing weekend of positive energy, inspiration, creativity, and new friendships!
